What most people don't know, or remember, it was the 1st gen of the 3vz engines that suffered from the HG problems. Toyota did a slight head redesign and re-routing of the exhaust piping in '90. At least that's what was told to me by my old neighbor, who is a Toyota master tech for Hamer Toyota.

No, that was almost $8k for a brand new 3.0 in my old '91 4x4 longbed....ah SNAP! You just got pwned!
