Nice How is that rack mounted? It looks like it's bolted to the top... I'm thinking of doing something like that.

there was some over kill with the bolts
ya it is bolted on the PO did it there are about 14 bolts through the roof,
I repainted it and have thought about removing it and fixing a few mistakes he did.
but there are no leaks so for now i will not mess with it.

I ran the rear lights and made them a quick disconnect so the top still comes of fast& easy.

ya at the local junk yard they have the same color top as mine i had thought about buying it and the seats but they want 350$ for the top and 200$ for the seats and both are not in that good shape i had thought about seening if they would do a trade for a 87 subrau.

Man, I think the whole top would come off before the rack It is a good idea though. I was going to use a gutter mount rack (I have some aftermarket metal gutters on there) but I don't like how they're so tall. I'll probably do my rack something like yours (with a more reasonable amount of bolts of course).

in the last photos of the top if you look at the left side of the top pic you can see the wire going through a hole that was for a CB then the pic after you can see the wire coming through the roof.
I ran the ground through one of the bolt holes and grounded it on the wiper motor so right above the drivers side seat belt I put a disconnect for the wire.
this wire runs under the carpet to the center column by the shifter where the switch is at right by my rear window switch

sweet truck. for those considering permanent roof mounts Yakima makes a rail slider that looks factory and is ultra low profile and adjustable. I put them on my 89' and am super happy. I should get some pics from above and inside as I get alot of questions about it.

All geared up and ready to rock.....
