its working great. the last pull i did with it was about a week ago. i was down in a creek bed on some really tight trails, and i had to winch up and out to get on a different trail.

it was about a 40 ft pull, muddy/rooty and steep as a mofo and also slanted to one side. at one point my right front tire was about 3' off the ground and the drivers side was fully stuffed(wish i had takin pics). im not sure if the winch was trying to flop me, or keepin me from floppin lol. but it was working great!

i have not been easy on this winch, nor was i on the first. and its no 1000 dollar warn. but for the money, id say its well worth it.

winch update..

used it 3 times this weekend, 2 pulls were mild / semi hard. one time i was high centered in deep goo, and the second time i was stuck in a goo hole while high centered on a log. both times the winch performed flawlessly..

the third pull i was winching out a dead yota. well almost dead, his rod was knocking so bad i thought for sure it was coming threw the block + he had no coolant along with lil power, 4:10's and 38's = anchor

any way i had to winch him up a hill that was like this / .. and where we were i could only get out about 30' of line. the whole time hes side stepping his clutch to try and help out and every time he did that the line would slack up for a second, then become super tight. like i thought for sure something was gonna break. that pull broke almost all the rules and warnings in the Smitty manual lol. again the winch worked flawlessly.

sorry no pics .. it was a hectic day.

What in the world did that guy do to run a rig with no coolant? Did he rupture something???

edit: I've got to say that you've used your winch about 10 tmies more than anyone I've ever even heard of. Well done!!!!

haha thanks..

well what happened was we were on are way out of the trail when his rod started knocking bad. it had so lil power that he had to use 1st gear 4low with full skiny just to get down the road lol. and while doing that he blew a rad hose, he just kept running it. it would get hot and seize up, we would just let it cool for about 30 min they fire her up again. and i just found out that he tried driving it to a local friends house and it blew 2 holes in the block, he still kept running it until he got there lol. hes a crazy redneck

hey TOYOTA 1 dont know how i missed this thread? anyways how are you liking that winch? lokks like its decent and its has a lifetime warrenty your bumper is ballin too, but you should make some sort of heavy mesh to cover your rad?

i like it, hasnt let me down yet ..

thanks! the bumpers have been holding up great.

yes good idea, some expanded metal/ mesh would work great for rad protection.

I plan to get the XRC-10...along with some Synthetic rope soon after.

should work GREAT, i would get the XRC-8, but i don't believe it would be as reliable as the XRC-10 for pulling out my heavy butt 4runner lol
