ok maybe not thread but a couple of people have mentioned what it was with pictures. Not trying to be rude.

"This is the only other pic I have of the kicker shock setup."
and that "little shock" yall are talking about above the leaf spring, that's what most reffer to as a "kicker-shock". It just heps reduce axel wrap when you run big blocks, like say, 3" and up... Although they do help to cut down the wrap a little, 3"+ blocks still fatigue the springs...

doesn't help with wrap- still let's the leaf twist up just like always... it helps with the spring suddenly and violently 'unwrapping', causing wheel hop.

but like said- blocks do not add any articulation over stock. you need the clearance between the spring and stop to allow that.

wrap, unwrap?
well imagine the stored energy of the axle and spring when not moving... 0 right?
and then you step on the pedal hard, trying to climb a hill, rock, whatever...
the torque on the wheel will cause the axle to move forward (due to the block) and twist the spring....
now you get to a patch of sand, decomposed granite, water, whatever on the surface...
the wheel slips suddenly since it lost traction and causes the spring to 'unwrap' letting the axle move rear-ward...
when the tire slides far enough, it will catch traction, then jump right back forwards, then slide, then jump, then slide....
get it?
it will 'hop' from the rear to the front uncontrollably.
the 'kicker' shocks help slow that down, making it more controlled.
