My Clutch will not fully disengage. Getting annoying.

I recently did a 5 speed swap and when i was putting the tranny in i had problems with the tranny butting completely against the motor finally it was 1/4 of an inch from butting so i just ran it the rest of the way with the bolts.
Last night i tryed to drive and the clutch would not fully disengage so i posted a thread about it and people said maybe the slave so i replaced it today.. and it did not help. would me forcing the tranny the rest of the way up on the motor do any thing to make the clutch not fully disengage. Please help im getting aggrivated with it. have not been able to drive it for 4 months.

ummmm, I've had my tranny off a couple of times and I never had to run it on home with the mounting bolts...it was pain in the a$$ but it went on it's own. I'm assuming that you can't get it into gear? Did you bleed the master cylinder well and the slave? That last quarter inch is like the input shaft engaging the pilot bearing. I mean, if the tranny wasn't inline with the motor, I suppose it would be hard to mount up. I wouldn't think you damaged anything...

ah i checked in to my pedal adjustment and it had alot alot of play and my dad adjusted it. and every thing works not. i drives great i love it compared to the auto.. the reason 4 all the play was the hole in the pedal is worn bad so im gonna get a new pedal.

ok you cant go into gear but the clutch works for ya some what well take a look under your dash and make sure you did crack the pedal mount they do that ya know
if thats all good and set then check to make sure its blead right
check and make sure the adjuster on the pedal is good the bolt on the clutch pedal
and when you ran it home with the bolts not a good idea trust me if it wont go dont force it you could have done the fallowing
-bent the snot out of a few fingers (on the disk)
-pushed the poilt in the crank causeing the trany input shaft to go ape snot and moving the disk causeing almost a welding on the flywheel and pp
-bent or miss aliged the release shaft or throw out bearing
and maybe a few more things i just cant think right now me tireds
if thats all good and set then check to make sure its blead right

so i have the same problem but i went out and bought a new MC and slave cylinder and i bled the thing right andi still couldnt shift into first or any gear but i have heard if u put a longer metal rod on the slave cylinder and it will push the fork further
p.s i had to drop the tranny twice already for this mystery

There has been a bunch of wrong parts in the correct boxes as of late.
when changing these things compare old with new .
A incorrect throw out bearing will cause the vehicle to not go into gear the way it should

I have never had a problem with OEM toyota clutch parts , but alot of trouble with after market.The same problems your having, no shifting or hard shifting.
You can shift through the gears with the engine off, but not when running.
The disc is not disengaging( still turning the trans inputshaft). Like wyoming9 said compare old parts with new.
Could be the wrong pressure plate, throw out bearing,or disc( alot of chinese made stuff is junk).
I dont think you did the damage by pulling it together with the bolts, but rather the gap was an indication that the wrong parts were used.

yea i have fixed a cracked bracket. right now i took out my transmisson i took off my clutch pressure plate (i got a new clutch kit and throwout bearing )resurfaced my flywheel now i gonna put it all back together and hopefull it shifts just fine. because this is the thirrd time i had to take off my tranny due to not being able to shift into any gear

clutch will not disengage
I was beating on my 92 pickup a little going up a creek bank and it died I realized the clutch pedal was not working but u can start it in gear and drive I made it home I just had to change gears with no clutch and turn off at stop[ lights....do I need a new clutch or think its fixable without pulling the tranny...it has fluid and no visable leaks and It happen while trail riding so it was hot
