My a340h shifts at 4000 any way to make it hold gears longer?

Just got my tach fixed only to realize that when I punch it, it will only rev just under 4000 before shifting into 3rd, any way to change that?
Seems like these transmissions should shift just under redline which is 5000 for the 3.0

Thanks in advance

well,if speed sensors are not working it will not be able to shift at all, that leave to a few things, your tps is not reading WOT or you have very low gears on the diff. altering speed sensor readings that much.i always check my tps reading the actual voltage, not ohms, that way you can find a 5v supply problem or grnd to mention a few.

Check the throttle cable adjustment. The tranny works off pressure. (the one that goes to the transmission)

Checking the throttle cable is something you should do as part of maintenance, but it has nothing to do with shift points in an electronic transmission. http://www.autoshop101.com/forms/AT11.pdf

Didn't think the cable mattered to much I maxed it out to firm up the shifts till I can get a shift kit or 5 speed swap for it I have since put if back to factory specs when I had the problem
5 speed swap will fix all my problems lol
Ill check the tps in volts next time
As for the gears I believe they are the stock 4:10s everything is stock besides the engine no lift not even a cai lol

Yea didnt think the kick down cable had anything to do with it
I'm wondering how you ge a voltage reading when you have to unplug it to test it? ill get another ohm reading tomorrow at WOT and post it up I don't want to fry anything.

I know there are three pins one ground one positive and the last in the signal for the readings

OBD Cable? What on earth could that be? I do believe that everyone else (including professional mechanics) uses a paperclip.

Do you have a link to this "OBD Cable"?

Ok so tested it this is what I came up with
Set the digital voltage thing to 200. Dcv and these are the results
Closed throttle is 004
WOT is 017 from 4 all the way to 17 but once at wot it goes up and down
From 17 to 16 or even 15
Also just checked it again and it only when to 010 hmmm hope I'm doing this right other wise it's starting to look like the tps
Checked it by kinda striping the bottom yellow wire

not sure if your readings are milivolt or what but at idle should be near .50v and increase as you open the throttle,if its obd2 you can use a scanner and see the tps voltage/percent easily.

Ok I'll hook it up to a obd2 port and see what happens I would have already done it if I didn't have to wire a whole new plug in
Thanks for the help so far
Ill let you know what the problem was

95 runner
3.4
A340h
pull shift lever down to "2"

on a side note, all of the dyno runs ive seen for stock 3vze and 5vze peak at about 4200 rpm and drop off from there. dont know that you will gain much above 4000rpm anyway in terms of performance for stock engine.
