Had my 2000 tacoma v6 running straight pipe awhile back but then cops didnt like it to much. 3 tickets in 2 weeks for defective muffler which sucks cause it sounded so nice like a smallblock chevy or something. Now i have the pretty much stock full exhaust and it sounds ok but not what i want. Which is 3" duals stainless steel. I know a guy that will set it up anyway i want for $200. Any thought on that anybody?

I have found it best to run stock tubing all the way back. In place of stock muffler use a bamuffler. I've got multiple threads on Tundrasolutions and on SocalTundras regarding these mufflers.
Hit me up, if interested I'll get you some links. These mufflers will really make you the best power at the best price. You'll stay within the $200 budget too. The muffler is only $96, then your guy will surely install for $100 or less.

Yeah come to think of it 3" is big for a 208 ci. V6 maybe 2" since it will be dual and will sound nice. Right now its got 2 1/4" sized stock tubing but a more narrow than stock muffler i dont know what kind it is. Not my taste thats for sure.
What exactly is bamuffler? Havent heard a those yet. Yeah i'm interested in what links you have i'd like to check them out. Also $96 a piece is out of my price range. I'm in need of replacement parts bad actually more than anything. I want to do the CSAS in the front and every part to go along with it. Moneys just the problem right now so shes gotta hang in their til i get the parts.

it's quiet. for daily driving, a loud muffler would easily get on my nerves. especially while trying to listen to some good ol' rock 'n roll
oh yeah, did i mention i get free replacements for life?

The muffler on my 93 V6 3.0L P/U just rotted thru a couple of weeks ago. Yay for this forum! I figured I'd find an exhaust thread. The above sound description is exactly what I was hoping to find. Man, I just read thru the reviews at the following link and all confirmed the same as above: http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...a2515a0a0.aspxI'll get making call this week to see if I can get an install by the weekend. I'm leaving the stock headers, pipes & cat and just replacing the muffler.
Anybody have any idea of what I should expect to pay for the install? I just want to be sure I don't get hosed.
Thanks

Cool, I have an appointment to have the Flowmaster 3 chamber 50 series installed next Tuesday. Guess I'll have then put a K&N Air Filter on as well. Fortunately I found a local garage up here on the mountain to do the work for the same $250.00 that Midas quoted. That will save me from making a 3 hour round trip drive, YAY! I'll post back sometime after the install with results and opinions.

They were able to get me in earlier than expected and did the install yesterday. I love it! Very mellow rumble outside and nice & quiet inside. In fact with the windows up, I can't personally hear the difference between stock & the Flowmaster. I'm kinda surprised that a lil' 6-banger can sound so good. Perfect for me being that I hate the obnoxious sound of Ricers with their fart-can mufflers, and that I can still appreciate quality tunes inside the ride. Awesome

Sounds good, not too loud but rumbly.
