Mounting a winch need suggestion

What would be the harm in removing the tow hook and eyelet and using those 4 bolt holes to mount some 4”x4”x5/16 angle iron to the frame sticking out. Then mounting a winch tray down to the angle with 4 bolts. I know its not going to win any awards but will it work without tearing up anything?
There are holes already predrilled for the third hole back behind the tow hook and eyelet but i would need to get the correct bolts before i can use them.
This is no way a final product, and im not dead set on doing it this way but i dont want to cut up or loose the bumper or valance, so i am sort of limited.

Sounds like it should work. May want to trim the front of the angle iron, just so it dosent catch on stuff.

What size is that winch?

Yea im looking at different angles to figure out how i want to cut it.
The winch is a M8000
It seems like it sits low to me but then i see these tucked behind the newer bumpers and they are about the same height.
