More problems with EZ Locker. NEED HELP.
#1
Well I made a thread last week about having trouble with a Detroit EZ-Locker and we figured out that they sent us the wrong springs. They were .5" and they needed to be .7". Well one week ago today we put it in with the .5" springs not knowing they were too short. Then when driving we could tell something was wrong so i posted here and figured out what was wrong. So then on Sunday my brother and I found some springs that were VERY similar and put those in (.7"), then while going down the road the truck would buck and it seemed as though the locker was engaging and dissengaging. So we called TrueTrach and they sent us new springs and dowels which we recieved on Thursday. That night we tore it apart and got the new springs in and putting it all back together. My father and I drove it around a circle in our neighborhood (1/2 mile) and when I made a 90* turn you could hear the inside wheel barking so we knew the locker was working correctly and we had NO BUCKING OR JERKING. Then that night about an hour later we took my 4Runner to go get something to eat and on the way to the restraunt, it Started bucking and jerking. Sometimes the buck would be small and barely noticeable and other times it felt like the whole truck was lurching foward. It would continue to do this every 5-10 secs. We turned around and went home assuming it was the backlash not being correct. On Friday we took it apart for the 4TH TIME!!! and using a FSM tried to see if we could get it close ourselves and realized that we couldnt. We have a good friend who has all the correct tools and does this professionally. He had the dial indicator and everything, took about an hour today and did it properly. So we are feeling good about it when we put it in the truck today. We get it in the truck and start driving it around the circle. Once again the bucking and jerking returns and to tell you the truth, I am EXTREMELY pissed off with this damn "EZ" locker and if yall have ANY suggestions as to what to do I would be most grateful. The entire 3rd memeber was put together according to the FSM and all the prpoer torques. Once again thank you to anyone who can help.

Did you keep the stock shims that were in the axle?
Forgetting those will cause the symptoms you describe.
Jack it up, you should be able to ratchet one wheel while holding the other.
Under power, it may lock at a 90 degree turn, one reason I don't like the way these things behave on the street.
The springs and dowels are very carefully machined and setup, a 1mm difference can totally change the way the thing behaves.
