Mods on a strict budget! Cheap tricks needed.

OK, Imgoing to do a few mods in the future, maybe next month hopefully, if my street bike sells, anyone intrested? Well on with the subject, I have a strict budget, about 1700 dollars, I already have a front bumper with a skid plate, bfg m/t, and a few other things that arent that important, what would be a good shock to replace the stock ones, best for the money, I know bilisteins are good but are there any other recommendations, I've heard you can put t100 spring shackles on a pickup or 4runner from 86-95, I have a 94 pickup 4x4, and its suppose to give about an inch lift, is it true? Ok now on to engine performance, should I get a header or 4.88 gears? Can I install the gears my self, very mechanical, now for trail armor, who has goood trail armor for cheap, I just need rock slides and maybe a grar bumper, any tricks or tips anywhere where I could save money in performance, offroad tech area, maybe I could make something, I dont know Im desperate for better performance, but just dont have that much money, any advice on anything would help, thanks.

if you have 33s and stock 4:10s i would regear it with 4:88s that would help the most

SUPER cheap are the deckplate and ISR mods... search for them on here, all about opening up that intake, letting her breathe a little better.

Definitely regear before you do any performance mods. Changing the gears will be like adding 50 relative horsepower to your seat of the pants dyno...

Other than that, opening up the exhaust seems to be where the best performance bang for the buck is.

Are you looking for better engine performance or better off road capability?
