moab utah challenge help!!

Hey guys new to toyota usually had jeeps in the past. I recently got a 95 4 runner 3.0 with a 6 inch lift and a rightloc rear locker. I have some play in my rear drive shaft it spins like an inch or so before engaging. Now that the history is done my question to all you pros I have been challenged to meet 3 other vehicles in moab utah for a series of challenges like top gear if you will. It's all budget done so I was asking you guys for advice on how to stomp on my competitors while still keeping it affordable. I'm going against 2 land rovers and a jeep keep in mind I have to drive there from pittsburgh pa. Thanks in advance guys can't wait to show them the yota power!!

Well it mostly depends on you diving ability and to pick lines. But before that. Give it a tune up. Change the oil. Make sure you have full skids. Maybe add rock sliders winch. All depends on your budget. But go slow use 4low and if your in over your head don't force it. Learning is fine lush yourself but don't flop it. It just not worth it. Take your time and have fun. Maybe let your tire presume down to 15-18 psi. Just go slow.

I think the biggest thing you can do is go drive your truck. Figure out what it can do but more importantly what it can't do. find its limits. Slow and steady is the trick in the rocks along with line choice. Now go drive your truck.

And airing down will get you lots more places. Do some research and figure out what other people drop their tire pressure to with your size tire. with 36" sneakers i'll comfortably run 10psi with no bead locks.

Should have mentioned have 33 12.5s also have a winch but I need to build ( my first time) a front b umber to attach it and also build rocker sliders. And also thinking a spartan front locker and a snorkel just worry about where the air box is with where if I have to dip into water... any ideas on the play in the drive shaft should I do a rebuild on the rear??

These are all god questions. But as already stated take you truck out on local trails. If you want to throw money at it. Then locker tires winch armor ext. but if money is an issue. Drive it. Learn it.

To check your drive shaft you should drop it and inspect the u-joints while its not installed. Just get used to your rig.
