Mass Air Flow Sensor

I'm looking at a 1991 4runner as a new project but it has problems with the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAS/MAF) and started to run rough and i was wondering if there is a way to fix it or if i have to get a new one if i get the yota

Getting trouble codes? '91's don't have a MAS/MAF.

No I don't have it yet I'm looking at it on CL (I live in BC) and the guy said he found a few worn/cracked connections I'll see if I can get some pics of it to be sure

Worn / cracked intake boots can cause some issues, but it's not easy to diagnose over the Internet.
