Masking tape removal

I just got done painting my 81. Removing all the tape and paper etc and I screwed up. I left some tape on there when I was priming and now it won't come off the rubbers on my doors. Anyone got any ideas as to what will take it off easy without messing up the fresh paint?
Ty for any ideas

I screwed up and left the tape on there too long I guess. It will not come off. I have to sit there with my fingernail and dig it off little small pieces at a time. I am going to try a hair dryer tomorrow.

Masking tape is just a paper backing, so just about any solvent will get through there and loosen up the adhesive...

oh ok gonzo. Try any kind of wax/grease remover. We use stuff called dx320 but any kragens or auto parts store will have some kind of adhesive remover. If that dosent do the trick id b suprised but next would be use some thinner. If u cleared your paint more than a day ago it wont hurt the paint but dont let it soak into rubber as it may discolor it. Like tc said u just need to loosen up the adhesive.

Ty for the info.
It was bugging me so I went out and got my heat gun. Used it on low. Got warm and it pealed right off. I just finished painting it late lastnight so I didn't dare try any solvent of any kind.

thinner might damage the rubber. you might be better off using some oil, wd-40 etc. works all the time.

yea i never think about wd-40. sounds like u got it off and especially for only painting it a day ago stay away from thinners. Did u stay the same color? or color change.
