Maintenance receipt porn
I've owned quite a few vehicles, all used, and a handful of Toyotas. Anyone who keeps detailed maintenance records and receipts knows how much the next owner appreciates it, but I've never been able to find a used vehicle with a nice set of records.
That is, until now. Picked this up the other day for $3k. 130,000 miles on the 3.slow. It came with a color-matched topper with nice screened camping windows and foam for bed camping. Arizona truck, which anyone in Colorado knows is HUGE for obvious reasons, particularly the fact that I can't see through any gaping rust holes over the rear wheels. No rust at all.
Anyway, to the point: it came with a 3-ring binder full of maintenance records. Head gasket recall at 60k to oil changes at 130k, it's all there. Hopefully I'm not the only one who appreciates this. Not to mention that the p.o. spent $2300 on maintenance only 5 years ago.

I bought a 1983 chevy van motorhome a few years ago with a binder like that. The owner brought it out and I look through it for about 10 seconds and pulled out my checkbook. lol.

I've got two inches thick of Lordco (auto parts store) receipts. Totalled it once at over $1000, but the average purchase was less than $10. Spent $80 to get my gear backlash reset, felt raped so I learned to do it myself (the gears, not the raping).

my truck came with a folder full of reciepts. they were all from the toyota dealer in town, oil changes, tune ups, etc. found out my truck had a new short block put it at 80k, something about burning oil?
the only receipt not from the dealer was for 4 tires at a tire kingdom.
made me feel good considering i got the truck for $900, and it was taken care of... sorta.

I wish I got a binder with my truck with receipts, but instead I keep finding out bit by bit what was and wasn't done. Most recently, I found out why it had a new clutch- the last one blew up blowing a small hole in the bell housing by the starter.

If you want to know the truth....it doesn't matter if it has receipts or not. Sure, it kinda proves they took it to a shop and they "said" they did some work...and who knows if the mechanic was lazy that day??? You can just as well buy a truck with no receipts that was just as well taken care of.
