losing a little oil after HG work

The old head had alot wrong with it, so the lower end is now experience new-engine compression, and I think that is what's causing me to lose oil. Every 500 miles or so it's about a quart low. No drips, ever, can't see it burning or smell it, but I have been told that my exhaust has the slightest blue haze to it.

Sound like the rings are just worn out? This is a 210k mile engine.

I think I'm just gonna hold out another 6 months till I can do a rebuild. Has anyone had luck with some STP stuff or something to reduce oil consumption?

You just dump that in the oil and leave it till the regular change time?

Have you had good luck with it?

You can add to oil, put some in a vacuum line(brake booster line) and in your gas!

Sure, it's modern day snake oil. You can even fix a flat by rubbing some of it into the bad tire... !

Just kidding... The folks that believe in it swear by it. Myself I haven't tried it but probably will eventually.
