Looking for the MOST Comfortable seats to swap in
Hey guys, I have an 86' 4runner. When I first bought it almost 3 years ago it already had 2nd Gen 4runner seats swapped in. The seats are grey and my interior is brown & tan. I was planning to just throw some seat covers on and call it a day. But as time goes on the old back has been bothering me more and more, just wondering what seats you guys have swapped in that are comfy! Im talking more of used seats i can get out of a pick n pull, cant really afford any aftermarket seats right now. If the seat tracks/brackets need modified that's not a problem. If you have any pics, that would be awesome, let's see em!!!
**EDIT** Doesn't have to be first gen 4runner, can be any year truck or 4runner, I'm just looking for your input, thanks!

I've got an SR5 and the seats are fairly comfy, but mine are super worn and the frame on my driver's seat is bent.

Unknown seats
Couldn't tell you what these came from. I hope somebody recognizes them because I highly suggest. The knob on the driver seat turns and brings in the sides of the seat which really holds you in place when offroad.

JaxAttack, your seats remind me of 3rd Gen Limited seats. Maybe someone who actually has a Limited can verify.
Remember comfort is highly subjective. We are all different shapes and sizes. A long time ago in one of these threads someone swore 1st Gen SR5 seats were the best. The SR5 seats in my 4th gen suck. The cloth SR5 seats in my 2000 are fantastic. I have the lumbar fully extended.
The most comfortable seats I've ever had were my 08 Honda Odyssey. Heat and many adjustments. Whatever you get take the seat cushions off and put them on the old 4Runner frame. You should preserve the slide forward function for the back seat passenger.

Like I mentioned before, I think I have second gen 4runner seats in mine, not positive, they used to feel way more comfortable than my wife's 2003 Durango, but not anymore, I think I'm just getting old, lol. I definitely think I can find something better though.
You mentioned the old 4runner frames, did they slide further forward than the 4 door 4runners? It seems like they would to allow passengers easier access. I like the old chevy blazers, the passenger front seat flipped forward to make it easy to get in.
Teuf, I like your ammo can center console/armrest! I wish I had grey interior, it would be so much easier to find seats that match the rest of the interior color!

Go to the junk yard and just start sitting in anything with a good matching pair. When you find one that you like, then pull it out and put it in a pickup or 4runner thats also in the yard to see how well it fits and what mods would be needed to bolt it down. Thats how I ended up with my old mazda 626 seats before my current sr5s.

I swapped out the front seats in my '91 4Runner back in '08. The fabric was worn out on the driver side bolster. On eBay I found a nice looking set of blue leather heated sport seats from an Audi TT for $600 (sounds like a lot but these are really nice seats with great side support). The color looked like a good match for my interior so I took a chance and bought them. The info on the install is here but this is how they look:

I test drove a 93' Cadillac Sixty Special once, and that car had some Amazing front seats! They were 22-way power, with a bazillion switches and heat as well. Even the freaking headrests were up-down, forward-back powered.
