Looking For 1990 4runner Engine

i need an engine for my truck, if you guys know of any engines around colorado let me know please

Have a look at your local Craigslist. You want to know whether its a V6 (called the 3vze) or a 4 cylinder (22re). People often "part out" 4Runners when there are irreparable.

That's actually a very good idea. Does the 22RE share the same engine mounts as the 3.4L 5vze

im pretty sure the mounts are different, making it a bit harder for us 4cyl guys to do a 3.4 swap. if you told us which engine you have that would help alot, and i would look through the classifieds and on craigslist.

No, different mounts, but easy to weld the new ones in.

I don't mind my 22RE, I think that if I were to do a swap, I'd find a 3vze 4Runner with a blown HG and drop in a 3.4L.

I'm replacing engines on a Mercedes 300SD diesel currently and figuring out the procedure.

Don't forget new tranny if swapping a 3.4 into a 22RE 4Runner.
