Complete 1986 Factory Service Manual for my Pickup

Cost me an arm and a leg at the dealership naturally, but It was WELL worth the investment. I'm quite happy, as it has all of the 22R-TE specs I couldn't find anywhere else.

On a more random note, I adjusted my valve lash today, and decided to paint the valve cover while I was at it. I replaced a few old hoses, but all I had lying around was some red silicone tubing. It matches the valve cover. I suppose I should re-do all of the hoses on the motor to match.

Funny, my dad said the same thing. "Good, your truck will be faster now"

I ended up paying just under $170cad for the two. That's dealer cost up here. List price around here is closer to $220. They may be cheaper to buy down in the usa, plus the exchange rate will drop it a bit more. Still a fair chink of change though.

My Supra's TSRM (That's Toyota Service and Repair Manual for those guys with newer vehicles) I ended up getting on ebay for like $35. I wasn't so lucky with this one.

Books are EXPENSIVE!!!! My books for school were $700 bucks for 5 books. Luckily for me it was free I wonder if I could say a FSM was a required book for one of my courses and get the scholarship to pay for one? hmmmm...haha I wish

Unlike other manufacturers FSM's, the Toyota manuals are worth their weight in gold, and they charge for them that way.

When I bought my '89 Runner from the original owner I was backing it out of the driveway of his house and he comes running out with... the factory service manuals. Just threw them in, they came with the rig. I didn't even think to ask if he had them.

Something to remember, ask the PO if he has them when you buy a used rig.

too bad I got my truck from an old lady, the original owner that bought it brand new in 91 she had no books, but had all the paperwork for ANY work that was ever done on it! and I mean EVERY bit of work, like reciepts from a Toyota dealership in 91 for it's 1st oil change! half the paper was faded out, but my jaw dropped when I seen that, lmao. They were in a 3-ring binder; I gotta dig that thing back out; I stashed it somewhere in the move...

Hell no E-bay turned into a bidding war and pissed me off but not before the price was jacked up for a used book for almost what a new one cost.

Stampede toyota, 32nd and 32nd up north. Ask for Jeff in the parts department, and tell him Rob sent you. He should be able to hook you up with parts at cost.

From: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.

I work for Cengage Learning, which probably produce your books for school. If you want them cheaper tell your professor to use ebooks or custom black and white, it will knock half the price off!!!!!

These things are great! So much in depth info, and the pictures are amazing. That hayes pos I have is not worth the paper its printed on. Thank goodness I didnt pay for that one.
