Look what I got for free (Don't laugh)

Just picked it up yesterday for the cool price of $FREE it's a 1990 22re 5 speed 4x4.....

Rockers are shot, and rear quarters as well, but the floor is clean and solid and the interior is clean...

It's got a sweet tailgate (NO RUST) and a tire carrier (all going on my 4 door

It's also got some aftermarket infinity speakers in boxes and kenwood coponents in the dash (not sure about rear stock location) and a bug deflector (not too sure about installing that one yet)

It's got brand new OEM front fenders...

But the best part is.... Wait for it....

So what I'm going to do is install my lift on this one (do the body in the spring - don't have a garage) and wheel this and save the 4 door for my daily driver... The tailgate and tire carrier are going on my daily, as well as the new fenders, so I can snorkel my old ones...

Free is a good thing. My wife got her '92 4rnr for free. Well, sort of. It was a "donation". We offered to by it from her friend, the original owner, when she was considering buying a little Volvo. But, she didn't want to sell us something that was having so many issues. And boy was it ever having issues! So, she "donated" it (took a write off...we have a 501c-3) so we'd have a second vehicle for hauling animal stuff. By the time we got it, we had to replace the motor. Oh well! The rest of it was still free. And now the '92 is our "luxury" vehicle and the '86 is our beater. Hehehe!
Free is a good thing. No laughing here. Congrats! Perfect little project!

free is awesome, although it appears to be "dripping" rusted pieces of metal, a free 'yota is exactly what I (and a lot of other people) wish for every day

Could be laughing at my dashboard elvis... It was a good find. I went there with the intentions of buying it for the talgate. He said "just get it out of here", so I boosted it and towed it home... Now to source some rockers and rear quarters...

Heres the plan....

Install my 4" trailmaster bracket lift in the front with BJ spacers
Install my 2" body lift
Install my manual hubs
Snorkel it while I have the frnders off it. (Monday when I have time to swap my fenders off my other Runner)
Convert rear to leaf (pending - sourcing LC80 coils) already have rear leaf housing and f-150 leafs/ 8" eye to eye shackles
5.29:1 Gearing
Lock front/rear
35" MT's - (Goodyear MTR's?)
Add some offroad lights
Fab front and rear bumpers

What size pipe for the snorkel? and what have others used for the cap (other than buying an acctual cap)

This will be for now - Hopefully someday I can find a Solid axle on the cheap. I do know where there is a D44 passanger side drop from a J-truck w 4:11's. Anyone know the width of this axle?
So I will let you know as I get on this Truck... Maybe tomorrow I'll start on adding the front lift...

2 door second gen runners are super rare. Go try to find a quarter glass for one of them, not easy I tell you. Cool truck, I would exo cage it so I didnt ruin the 2 door only parts and to add strength to the very rusty body.

Runs great (that is until it blew the rear heater hard line) I'll re-route that for now with some rubber line. Tomorrow I'll be snorkeling it before I swap my other fenders (so I cut my old ones) and switching to my other tailgate So I don't ruin that one either.. Also weather permitting I'll be swaping my 33's to it and the 31's to my 4 Door...
