Yeah, all auto lockers are all going to perform the same off road, which is to say great- tires cannot travel slwoer than the ring gear. The only difference is on road.

I wonder how many they actually sell? I'm guessing its as much for the publicity as for the direct profit from selling Rockwell lockers.

The only other company to make a locker for the Rockwell is Ouverson Engineering, and it is more like a lunchbox, where the ARB is a full carrier.

I run an Aussie in the rear of my pickup and it does really well in everything except hardpacked/slick snow. The only time I've had to back off of a climb because I couldn't make the top was in a slick snow and ice situation. I actually think it had more to do with the tires than the locker because once the tires got packed with snow that was as far as I was going. I think you'd do well with an Aussie in the rear and some BFG A/T's.

Let us know which way you decide to go.

With my all terrains its well behaved on ice and snow, if the back end started walking to the side, pop it in 4wd and you've got a rally car (albeit a top-heavy one). I'd let my mother driver around in my rear locked truck on ice and snow if it were in 4wd, if she weren't confused by the "second gear shifter".
