Kyle -
I went with Line-X on my hood and I'm happy with the results. I brought it to them prepped (sanded, primed, wiped) and they did it for $125 cash.

Jay - You are the man
. Thanks for all the work bro. I really appreciate it. Your truck looks sweet. I love that color. Great work on the photoshop lift. I gotta see it when you get it all finished. Thanks man.

He told me to go for it. He thinks it looks better with the black hood and that it would look even better with a scoop like christian's. He told me to not get the black rims though. He said it looked like there was just too much black around the bottom. I think all the black is gonna look bad ass with my bj spacers, coils, and 33s.

Yes, Line-X will fade over time...but I don't care as I don't like shiny black. I would rather it be dull. I will just use a scrub-brush and car wash soap to keep it clean. And I usually park in the garage, so it shouldn't fade too fast. We'll see though.

Here's what it looks like for real (not photoshop):

Note that I made the division to line up with the top of the bumpers, which is slightly below the crease you're thinking of. A little closer up:

The fading wouldn't really bother me all that much, I just don't want it to end up looking really bad. I don't want it to look like crap. I migh't just go with a semi-gloss black on the hood, and herculiner on the bottom. I can just go back over the herculiner if it gets way to bad, and the semi-gloss black wont fade hardly at all. Didn't you herculine your front bumper? How did that turn out? Get any on your hootus

that looks great. thats exactly what i want. I like your line better. I was kinda thinkin that doin it up higher was a little too much. did you do the painting or have it done? what is it, just normal paint?

Yep - just rattlecan Rustoleum. Just take your time and do it right. It's been a while, but it went something like this:
- fix any rust you want to
- wash the truck REALLY well
- tape off the division. I stuck one end at one bumper and pulled the tape out all the way to connect with the other bumper, all as one piece. Then I cut where it crossed the door gaps and wrapped the tape around
- add more tape or paper to protect from overspray
- scuff up the paint with very fine sandpaper
- wipe down/clean so there's no sanding residue
- primer
- paint multiple thin coats
- after everything dries really well, remove the masking
I didn't bother wetsanding it or anything, so there is a "ledge" where it's masked off.
I'm thinking about modifying the paint scheme though, as I'm getting spoiled by the ease of touching up the paint on the sliders because you don't have to worry about the overspray. I'm thinking of an "A-Team" paint job...anyone want to photoshop that? (grey on top, black on bottom, separated by a red stripe)

I had a Sierra w/ a linexdliner and it faded in the AZ sun pretty fast. Although it was in the bed of a truck so it constantly had bricks, flagstone, furniture, you name in it. A powerwashing seemed to help but I usually didnt bother as it was in the bed. That stuff was TOUGH though, took plenty of abuse.
