Sounds like the alternator.... stick a voltmeter on the battery terminals and see what the voltage is, should be 13.5 to 14.5 volts.... if its lower, then the alt isnt working, and your runnin everything off the battery...

Could be a bad ground. Those lights are really sensitive. It could be the belts, I'mhaving a problem with mine at the moment as well. But I think I may have it solved.

Even if the alt is charging doesn't mean it doesn't have a bad diode causing to much ac voltage through the system. Or the regulator is bad grounding the light circuit but still telling the alt to charge. So either the alt needs replaced or the charge light wire is grounding out somewhere. Most likely the alt. Too much mud and water.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I went through a mud hole and my break & charging light came on.

I have replaced the battery ...... went through 4 alt 3 of those were from NAPA and I still have both of the lights. I have replaced the fuses at the box under the hood and checked the fuse box under the dash.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Dave
