I have a 93 pu, and i want to lift it. it will still be my daily. My question is what tire size are you running, with what gears, and what are your miliage? Any comments on a lift? Thanks.

 

before you get flamed to death try the search button. there are way too many options and opinions. but i am currently running stock 1996 tacoma with stock 410 gears and get 20-21 mpg combined driving. unless you meant total mileage, just rolled 100k. check out www.toyteclifts.com

Also, you might want to fill out your signature with pertinent information because, for example, whether you have an auto or stick will drastically affect your gear choice.

Most important what are your reasons for lifting, Im with Tcx, as this will DRASTICALLY affect what type of lifts you should be looking at...give us all the info we'll be glad to help you out with advice and opinions...

36x13.5 r15 Iroks, 8.5" lift, 5.29's front and rear, and still about 17mpg...

1" of torsion bar with 300M torsions and downey dual hoop and dual Billys
2-3" of AOR longer (4"?) and shackles with remote res short can billys out back...

 

1990 Toyota 4Runner 22RE/Auto
3" body lift
2" torsion bar crank
2" coil spacers
4.10 gears
31s = 17ish mpg
32s= 15 mpg
35s= 10-12 mpg

 

i run BJ spacer (ball joint spacers from sdori) larger torsion bars 23.4mm (OME) with 33x15.50 muds and i get about 16mpg

My 4rnr's are all stock suspension and gears. 30x9.5/15 on the '86 (19-20mpg) and 31x10.5/15 on the '92 (crap=approx. 14mpg). The '92 is having some issues right now, but it was getting around 17mpg before.

Lift? I'd only lift for tire clearance, and only if I actually needed to.

 

I don't mean to hijack this thread but are people really getting below 20mpg when they run 32"+ tires? I run 32s on my '92 and I get 24mpg. I do have an intake and full exhaust but I don't think they would make up for the gain over you guys.

'94 4runner, 31X10.5's, BJ spacers, Coil spacers, 4.88's, auto, 15-17MPG. I can get 18MPG if I go the speed limit but I almost never do.

Well I put 15 gallons in it right after I bought it and drove it over 350 miles, then put 15 more gallons in it when it was on empty. 350/15=23.3333

And I'm a 4x4 with a 2" lift.
