Left turn clunking/shifting sound

Over the weekend i took a nice drive through the mountains in my 89 runner, on the way back a clunking sound developed on left turns from the right front of the car. The sound was a solid thump sound as if something was shifting under the car, my passenger reported being able to feel it in her feet.It doesn't happen when the steering is at full tilt, i couldn't 100% figure out what would cause it, but it seemed like a force threshold as it didn't seem to matter how hard/far the wheel was turned. I drove a bit in circles in a parking lot and wasn't able to replicated it, and i checked all the lugnuts just to be safe, but the moment i pulled back out onto the switchbacks and got my speed up it happened over and over. Suggestions on what to check first?
Much appreciated

Do you still have a front sway bar on? Might want to check the end links, the only way I know to be sure is to disconnect it and go for a drive.

Thanks for the suggestion, I read about sway bar sounds here a bit and heard that normally the sound is accompanied by a bump in the road. I checked the sway bar today and I could slide it side to side with my hand, but that was all. I tried to disconnect it but I didnt have a long socket. I'll find one and try again. In the mean time I tried again driving it and found I have to make a right then a left for the sound to occur, meaning something is shifting.

I had the above mentioned problem with the swaybar. Broke an end link on an off roading trip and didn't realize it. A few days later, I could move it with my hand. So i used a wrench and socket to take it off, and now, no more sound and a whole added 1/2" of flex

Got it i think, had the hood open to attempt to burp the cooling system and noticed my battery hold down worked itself loose and the whole battery slamming against the side was the sound, wouldn't have expected that to be felt in the floor 0_o

Thanks for all the responses you guys are always really helpful.
