Leaks?

Anybody have them?

In my 88 4runner, I found a puddle on the floor in the back seat.

I promptly vacumed it up, and lifted the carpet so I could try and dry up the underside also.
I later checked the floor in front on the passenger side and the floor was wet there also. Same with the back on the driver's side.

Only dry spot was the driver's seat, all the other parts of the floor were either wet or damp. Anybody have any ideas where this is coming from?

My 87 has leaks on the slider windows, but that is to be suspected.

Also, every day after school, I see a puddle of oil under my truck. I guess it is time to actually fix that oil pan.

I have a sunroof, but I figured there were no drains to get clogged.
I looked around momentarily for any traces of where the water could be running from, but I couldn't find anything.

Also, the wind was hitting the truck on the driver's side, and the worst of the wetness was on the passenger side.

Water pump leaking? Does it smell at all like radiator fluid (anti-freeze)? How is your coolant level?

My first guess would be the sun roof.

I played hell trying to locate all the leaks in my wife's convertible. I finally found them all and repaired all but two. The weather stripping leaked above the doors. That may be another option.

Could be coming from the seal where the hardtop meets the cab. Any idea if the top has been off before?

Check to see if your vent baffles under the"b" pillar covers are intact (the plate just between the door windows and the removable top) there should be 2 or 3 "shutters" there on each side. mine is missing 1 and leaks when there is a strong windy thunder storm (rain gets blown in )

I know I've got some water coming in the firewall during heavy rains where i run my wires from the battery to the inside. I don't have carpet though, so It doesn't really matter.

No smell of coolant.

The sunroof, wouldn't that let the driver's floor get wet also?

Top has been off before.

I noticed those baffles before, thought that may have been a source, I'll check them.

There is a wire coming through the firewall, it's for hooking up to an amp, but it's on the drivers side I think.

Thanks guys, I'll go chase them down.

Passenger side windshield/A pillars leak notoriously. Both my 85 and 87 did/do. The 87 top also leaks in the rear seat coming from the top...not bad though, but I don't have carpet so who cares right now.

Once I get the windshield replaced (85 has been and stopped) then I'll see about the other leaks in the 87.
