leak on 89 runner/changing tranny fluid

leak on 89 runner/changing tranny fluid
I think I got a leak in the transmistion...
Its right behind the stock skid plate its seems to be darkish red...so I think its tranny fluid and its leaking from the transfer case???
maybe a gasket seal???
who has had this experience???
how do you drain and or check the tranny fluid???
