Leaf/IFS question. [Now w/ ZUK Mod pictures!]
I am going to get some money back from taxes (most of which is going to bills), and I was contemplating curing my poor 4Runner's rear sag with a pair of 2" lift leafs from LCEngineering, however I am unsure of how this will effect the front end of things.
I mean, should I worry about it riding funny without picking up the front a bit?
Maybe I should get 3" leafs and 2.5" ball joint spacers from Fat Bob's Garage?
In the big picture, when I have money, I plan to do a SAS, and maybe even one day run 33's.
As per the usual, any help is appreciated!

SDORI and 4Crawler both offer spacers. Personally, I wouldn't use spacers for lift and would avoid 2.5" spacers due to the excess CV and ball joint angles the spacers will introduce.
Since you're planning on SAS, I'd say avoid modding the front and search the forums here for ZUK Coil Mod for an alternative to replacing the leafs.

If the ultimate plan is to SAS then spend as little now as you can to improve the ride. If you already do some difficult wheeling then I'd recommend the weldless Zuk mod and some 1.5" ball joint spacers. You can easily sell this stuff to someone else when you do the straight axle swap.
If you don't wheel anything very difficult or haul a lot of weight you could simply get some 1.5" blocks for the rear to level it out and save money for the SAS.
Luck!

You guys are scaring me...
"Fat Bob's Garage 1 1/2" Ball joint spacers add up to 2 1/2" front lift with torsion bar adjustment. Longer shocks are required with this kit."
no 2.5" spacers there... I''d spend my money with Rodger anyway if I was going to buy this. Who knows this guys quality..
What's the major dilemma again?

After some looking around, I think I might do the weldless ZUK, blocks might be a quick fix, but the rear springs really have no travel on them anyway.
I mostly want to get her back to spec ride height for now, so I am thinking of doing the 12" springs.

sorry, my computer bonked out...
to fix your rear, I'd go get me some rear truck springs. Don't worry about the whole springs, just drop the axle and take a hammer to the spring keepers, the metal clips that keep them all in line. You can cut the spring pins off if you need to. More than likely they'll need to be replaced anyhow.
I'd say unless the truck you pickd out had a oad on it all the time, most trucks didn't carry the load 100% of the time like a 4Runner so they should be sag free... I know I've never seen a sagging truck....

with new springs out back...about correct height (not actually new just better )
and with leveling up the front....(cranking t-bars..)
still has some redneck rake to it but i still have to remove the 2" blocks from the rear..but im now ready for 38's/ 4d's

I know a lot of folks don't like blocks, but I put 3.5" pro-comp blocks in the rear of my pickup (saggy but by the way) and I love them, no problems at all. Ended up with about 2" of lift in addition to the normal ride height which I love!
