LandCruiser Coils in rear for 92 4runner

LandCruiser Coils in rear for 92 4runner
I'm buying some coils from someone on this site.. he's cool.
I was wondering a few things about these coils.
(I know this topic has been beat to death but I want to be exact).
How much of a difference will the different size coils make when put on the 4runner? (Because one coil is a little longer). Should I cut it to the same size maybe?
With these coils I've heard it will give 3in. to 4in. so will I need to put on longer shocks? brake lines? Will anything else have to be extended?
Thanks

I believe the longer one is supposed to go on the passenger side, due to the fuel tank.
Yes, probably brake lines and shocks, but also Panhard bar drop bracket and LSVP lift bracket would be good...

Is it absolutely necessary to extend the brake lines and get new shocks and brackets???
I don't want to add these things right away... maybe later on but I want the option of not having to do it.
(So should I cut the springs to the same size?)
Thanks

You can fabricate a simple bracket to move where the fexible line mounts to the axle up a couple of inches to compensate.
#5
So does that mean I have to do that???
I just want a simple yes or no answer.
Do I have to replace anything else other than the coils to lift it with the landcruiser coils?
(Also I don't even know what bracket is being talked about.. lol)
Thanks

you can leave everything unbolted and run it that way or do it the right way the first time. I didn't reattach my panhard bar after, it is now but i left it off for a year. And you can leave out the shocks for now but you will hear terrible noises and the ride will be terrible. If i were you I would buy the drop bracket and the new shocks you would be spending an extra $140 give or take depending on the shocks and you would be doing it the right way.

i would help out but i literally just did it 2 or 3 weeks ago and haven't taken any pics. but go here http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...rdDropBrkt.jpg and there are instructions for install but it's easy, really easy.

The panhard bar is what locates the axle, laterally.
To the original poster, if you end up with 3" ~ 4" of lift then yes you'll need new shocks. You're stock ones will be basically fully extended with 4" of lift.
What are you going to do with the front or do you just want to drive it around with the ass up in the air ?
Why do you want to lift the rear 3" ~ 4" anyway ?
Geezzz, some of the cr$p advice that's given on this forum is almost criminal.

I'm going to do 1.5" BJ spacers up front with my IFS.
And I don't want spacers in the rear and I heard about the landcruiser coils.. I rather have coils than spacers.
And I'm going to put on some 33 inch tires.
Where can I buy some of these brackets?
And what size shocks should I get?
Thanks

I've talked to a couple guys on the board and also some shops and from my year of experience I can say nothing happened and it really isn't that unsafe. It didn't hurt anything at all. That was with about 12 to 15 thousand miles driving and a number of wheeling trips too. I wasn't recommending not doing it, but he doesn't seem very eager to do it so i was informing that it was possible to run it without one. But I do recommend completing the whole job and not just half.

I honestly would rather have 2 or 2.5" in the rear lift so the rear isn't higher than the front.
Would it be safe to cut the landcruiser coils to make the lift to 2 - 2.5"?
Or are there any other coils that would give 2 - 2.5" of lift for the rear on the 2nd gen?
Thanks

I cranked up the torsion bars to compensate for about 1" of the rear lift. It doesn't look goofy(with the rear in the air, and the front stock). I also have a 1" body lift, and my 33-12.50's still rub.

So should I run 1.5 BJ spacers with Landcruiser coils and replace the shocks and do brackets in the rear?
Or should I do 1.5 BJ spacers with 2 inch downey coils and leave the rest stock.
(I want my runner to be as level as possible, and to do this lift as cheap as possible.. so I think this would be the best route.. ? You think?)
Thanks
