TNR - Sorry for not being clear... Cylinder walls over going 30 over... Crank is in beautiful shape...

I stopped by the radiator shop and talked with the owner and he wants to punch the tubes and paint it for me... has some salt damage but very minor he said... so he's gonna charge me 65(total for all work on radiator) to take the ends of and clean all the tubs out and paint it... he pressure tested it and all that jazz as well...

he's charging me 10 bucks to clean out the oil cooler in some special solvent machine he has.... beats me cleaning it out...

I got the cams from Johnny now,YAY

OK, so I just got the rest of the master kit from Ted ordered up and it will be here next week.

I will have most of a top end gasket kit from Ted left over, so if someone needs one let me know.

hell I just want a chick who actually knows the difference btwn a cresent and an opened end wrench! Or that actually knows that you put this coool stuff called "oil" into the engine's crankcase, and that it and the oil filter are changed more than once every 11ty billion years... :beats head on wall:

I did meet one girl who knew how to wrench, as her dad was a mechanic and more importantly, she owned a HEEP, but she hated turning the wrench. She then promptly moved to Colorado. lol

my second and hopefully final batch of parts is ordered from Shannon in the Vender Section. He is a great guy with DEEP discounts on factory parts...

What did I order:
head bolt washers, oil pump cover seal, fuel filter, transmission filter, radiator cap, oil cooler hoses and o-rings, oil strainer and gasket, rear tail-housing seal, and a bunch of the preformed coolant hoses...

So, I am just waiting on the kit from EB to get here next week for more progress...

I am going to go put my "crappy" Monroe Sensatrac's on now. I might even bust some rust on the frame - but the jury is still out on that one... Might just play in the shop instead

I spent 3 hours cleaning the drivers side frame rail today, what a PIA!

Right now, i am experimentally electrocuting some of my parts in order to remove rust( my hope is that I can throw my control arms in there if it works)... I will let you guys know how that works out...

Are you talking about electrolysis, where you run a 12 volt DC current thru baking soda water with the rusted items suspended in it? I learned about that in another forum of IH/Cub Cadet members... how's it working?

 

I saw on myth busters that salsa works pretty good too. I used a sandblaster on a LCA once, hard to beat sandblasting for paint prep.

 

TNR - electrolysis is what we are doing just like you saw... I put the fuel filter bracket in there and left it overnight just to test the system -- I am now wondering if an LCA will fit in my 5 gallon bucket hmmm...

GOAT - I have one of these pressurized sandblaster but it isnt working worth a crap - I am about to return it -- I cant get flow consistant - I tried using play sand(bad idea) - cleaned out the system and tried 150 grit sandblasting sand(still didnt work) and most recently i bought the expensive stuff(black beauty) and still nothing

I don't know. we check the hoses and they are not clogged, neither is the deadman valve - we fiddled with the switch on the bottom of the tank.. nothing... pressure is definitely there...

I always use playsand but it has to be run through a screen first to get the pea gravel out of it. I use some old aluminum window screen over a 5 gal bucket to screen it. It is very slow using those little cheap blasters though, that's what I have too.
