Changing your oil yourself every three months...

What is it? About $15 now for 5 quarts of pennzoil or castrol? 12 months in a year... divided by 3.... 4 oil changes. 4x15=60 so $60

Oil filters? $3-$8 depending on the filter, so that makes the grand total possibly $72 or $92

Now, I always used mobil1 anyways with their filter and 5k/4 month intervals.

Mobil1 is like, $26 a jug now....

26x3= $78

mobil1 oil filters are about 11 bucks... so $44

78+44= $122

Given the oil I use anyways, I'm saving about $40. Worth it to me in the long run, i guess.

I go 8k on my M1 and a Puralator PureOne filter which makes it about 9 months for me so in a year and a half I spend about $65.

Amsoil is not the final word on oil and is a bit overrated but it's good stuff but not worth the extra cost to me but if I was putting 20k a year on my truck I'd give it a try.

Thanks for the thought. Bit just so everyoneknows it would of been about 20-25% cheaper. It is high to buy straight out. You could of still got the preffered customer offer and ordered it right then also and still been cheaper. It is active at the time of purchase.

The shipping prices are a little high, but the preferred prices are as good as the cheap oil at the parts stores.
