I know they are cheap. I know a lot of people complain about leaks at the manifold.

Does anybody have a set that work? Don't leak?

I have an incredible opportunity to buy a new set and wonder if it's worth it.

The PO put a Pacesetter on my 87 4Runner 22RE. It leaks and sounds stupid. You can hear the leak over the Flowmaster 40 and 2 1/4 pipe. It is routed really close to the motor and makes one of the bolts very hard to get to if you want to remove the transmission. The whole thing is rusty too. I'm getting an LC header when I put the new motor in.

It's a shame that their stuff is made in the US because it mostly crap. I have yet to have a product of theirs fit properly. I had their headers and I was so disappointed with the fit and quality that I sent it back the next day. You really get what you pay for. I honestly wouldn't take them if they were free.

Well I may be the exception. I have one on my 22re, 94 p/u. It is coated and fits and works great. I did not use the crappy gaskets they send with it. I installed original Toyota gasket and have never had any leaks. Have had it installed for 2 years.
I do check the header bolts every oil change. It fits great too.
I have seen several of them that were junk. I guess mine was built on a good day. LOL.

My USED pacesetter doesnt leak. I used high-temp spray paint, but only did one layer. It got scratched and is now rusted where it scraped stuff. I'm not complaining. I wouldnt buy a new one, though, personally. And will replace mine with a quality one when this one isnt usable anymore.

Never put one on a yota, but we put one on a 94 integra and it cracked the weld to the collector in 500 miles

I prepped, painted and used a stock manifold gasket on mine. It did burn through at the collector though..I cut it off and welded the exhaust pipe straight on to the header..That will do until the next time, then I will replace it with something better...

As with all things in life, you pay for cheap crap, you get cheap crap.

My friend has had a ceramic coated one on his 91 4x4 for about 4 years now with no problems. It must be really hit and miss with those things, all I usually hear is complaints, but my friend has been happy with his.

Angry

the gasket that comes with header is junk, mine blew out within 1000miles. after putting a metal gasket in and grinding some of the header welds to get it to fit, it works well now, probably less $ and to just get a good one and install it once...

I wonder how they stay in business??? In every forum I am a member of I have heard nothing but bad things about them. They do have a terrible reputation.
