LCE performance sells the block off plates for those of you who dont have to do emissions. i know you can make your own, or if your lazy cou can spend the $20 and just buy these.

Will the absence of a 10K resistor make the 3.0 not start? It cranks but doesn't turn over.

I guess that might depend on how exactly you blocked it off. There are different methods I've seen posted here.

The way I blocked mine was at the intake with a piece from a coke can. With that method I have had no problems at all. I'm not throwing the code and don't need the resistor setup.

The only time my truck ever cranked but didn't turn over was when I kept blowing the efi fuse, that was only because the o2 sensor wire was touching the exhaust.

I blocked off the intake with a coke can then a piece of sheet metal. and the exhaust part just with 2 coke can pieces.

It started up yesterday and i turned it off. Then i tried to start it up again it just crank and cranks but never turns over

I'd check all my fuses first. Did the non-starting problem happen right after you blocked it off?

Now that i think about it. I washed my engine bay and i might of gotten my ditributor cap wet. Ahhh... Thanks for your help. I think i know why its not starting.

But i havent put a 10k resistor on the temp sensor yet. should I?

I wouldn't put any resistors on if they're not necessary. If you're not throwing a code and it's running like it should (after you get it running that is) there's really no point.

Yeah, I'd leave everything there just invade you have to hook it back up for emissions or something.

We have no emissions here in tennessee =)

I live in Tucson, AZ right now but have a residence in TN still and my folks live there also. They live in Kingston. I reckon it's about 2 and a half hours SE of you.

I do know of some but my buddies who do still live there know exactly where they are. I only know how to get to them from my parent's house. They are in Oliver Springs. It's a far drive for you though.

Alright, for the first moments of my 4runner running after removing the egr valve and there was no code thrown without a resistor the CEL turns on...

I went by Radioshack and picked up some 10K 1/4Watt resistors. put one in and my CEL is still on... Any ideas?

reset the code?

Bridge it as in putting each side of the resistor into each side of the connector??

Just did this mod a few days ago and my truck now has BALLZ 2500-3000 pulls harder and at 5000+ your glued to your seat and my MPG when up best cheap mod ive ever done! Have a few pics as well.

So i removed the pipe from the EGR that goes into the Intake plenum.

Plugged that Vac line with a screw.

Made the blocking plate to close off the hole where the EGR exhaust tube use to be.

Also i didnt have a EGR temp sensor in its place is what looks like to me to be a dud sensor plug with a resistor in it.

I didn't completely remove the EGR so i just plugged the hole where the pipe from the EGR used to be by reusing the nut and J.B welding a screw into it so it wouldnt leak and so far its holding up. Oh and the finished result below.
