Well, it’s been almost 4 years and darned if I didn’t go and buy another Toyota! Since selling my 93! I’ve had a 29o2 bugeye wrx, a1997 rhd turbo forester, a 2pp4 golf tdi and a 2008 Impreza hatchback. I also retired for a year, moved to Vancouver Island, and started back working again. I bought a 1985 4Runner SR5 5 speed. It’s had a lot of work done to it, and it needs a few things as well so I’m looking forward to catching up with the community again. See you in the 1st Gen section! PS, I’ll clean up my sig here shortly

Of all my Toyota children I love my first gen 4runner the best, but I don't let on to the others and I try not to visibly favor one over the other.

That's said, this 4runner of yours looks like an excellent candidate for a 3RZ swap. Untrained eyes wouldn't even know the difference and the value of the vehicle would probably be augmented, not to mention a nearly 50% gain in horsepower and increased reliability without any sacrifice in fuel economy. Your stars have aligned in the heavens and a Jackpot is yours for the taking.

It’s had a fairly recent rebuild, and I prefer the simplicity of the 22re, but mostly I’m just not that ambitious. I want to tidy up the interior fix a couple of mechanical issues and that’s about it.

Are those VW seats? Any idea what the rear spoiler is off of? I get a lot of exhaust fumes with my rear window down
