ISR mod

So I did the ISR mod today, turned out prett sweet I thought. I ran it for a bit before noticing i needed two more hose clamps. At this point it idled fine. I put the two clamps on and now it idles at like 1100-1300.

adjust the idle down, it is less restrictive and sometimes makes the idle raise.

Ok I'll probly do that tomorrow. I've also been meaning to clean my throttle body. How hard is it to remove?

not bad really, but you can spray some seafoam deep creep in their and let it sit overnight. then spray it agian in the morning before starting it up. it will run like crap for a little, just drive around kinda hard and it should be fine.

It's easy, rip that TB out and clean it good! I solved a rough idle issue I had by cleaning the bypass port in it, I've had it off about 4 times this year doing random stuff. I pulled the upper intake manifold and cleaned about a quart of exhaust crud out thanks to the EGR; a 4 hour project at worst, worth it... make sure the coolant in/out lines get plugged while you're working or it will leak antifreeze on your engine (runs through the TB).

Your idle shouldn't be that high, not catastrophic but not normal either... clean the upper manifold and TB and you should be happy; solved a bunch of idle issues with my 3.0. It seems like the best treatment for this engine is to do maintenance/cleaning on it to restore it to it's orginal condition; it will run fine without aggressive interventions
