irratic vss signal after 5.3/4l60e swap

After swapping 5.3/4l60e to Toyota dual transfercase using downey 3 piece adapter tranny will not shift on its own. Vss signal is very irratic. Able to shift tranny using scanner, and manually upshift into 2nd. Any ideas?

What transmission are you using? Knowing that would help a lot.

Found the position of the VSS(vehicle speed sensor) has to be lined up almost perfectly straight up and down. Had to grind the adapter down where the VSS sits to make it sit right. Very pleased with the outcome. Gonna try it out htis weekend.
