Intermittent idle drop

Intermittent idle drop
Anyone have a 22re that randomly doesn't want to idle? My 90 4Runner runs amazing and takes all the abuse I can throw at it. But it has one hiccup, it'll randomly not want to idle at ~800. I'll have to pop the throttle a few times and bring it to about 2500 and it'll be fine again. It also does this on a hot start occasionally. Thought I'd ask cause I was leaving to go on a trail this morning with my lady and my pup, pull into the gas station and my truck is idling like it's got a comp cam! Couldn't get it to go away. So I shut it off. Fill it up with fuel, and got back in and started it up. Same thing. Think okay I'll go back and tinker and we can hit the trails later, well as I pulled away it went away. Never had it idle that rough. No cel, didn't have a hiccup the rest of the day. Anyone else have this? Did a search and couldn't find a thread that was specific to this.

Mine was this
I don't know if the tps on the newer style is the same as my 87 as far as internals but i have one laying around i could disassemble and see.
It could potentially be the iacv which i also have laying around and could disassemble as well.
To save you from possibly tearing yours up

It could be a vacuum leak it could be a tps issue.
Stuck dash pot possible
Edit; yes the tps return spring works the same. You should also check your tps to ensure it is in fact working.
I will make a post showing how to clean and adjust the iac

I suspect the Dashpot even though my experience with a bad Dashpot is opposite of yours problem. Usually revs high until you hit the throttle and release real fast then idles down from my experience.

My dashpot was fine. Didn't get a chance to check till this afternoon. Any other ideas? Haven't checked the iacv, but it seems like that shouldn't be an intermittent thing and would more be always a high idle with maybe some kind of a lean condition when warm? Or a super low idle on start up? Mine always idles high when cold then drops when warmed enough so I don't think it's iacv.

Sorry for super late replies. I work a lot and only play with the runner when I have time. No vacuum leaks anywhere. PCV was replaced about a year ago along with the grommet. TB gets regular cleanings. Air intake tube is fine. Propane test would have revealed that. All the vsv things work fine. Went through all of them and tested good. Have noticed if when I start it I just apply a bit of the skinny pedal it doesn't ever happen. But I'd like for this to just be fixed. Maybe it's somewhere in the spark? It's so intermittent I don't know how I'd check it.
