Installing a tachometer
I’ve got an 88 Toyota Pickup with the 3vze, and I’m wiring in a tach. I’ve got everything wired in and it works, but I can’t fine the ignition wire so that the tach will come on when I turn the key. Does anyone know where an easy to get to wire is in the cab that I can quickly wire it in???

The car stereo is the first place i go for switched power. however it might be a bad idea on an old car because it could cause interference which could make its way into the speakers, especially coming from literally the worst part of the car for interference, the ignition system.. give it a try tho.

Post a picture of fuse blocks in your engine and cabin.
Find Engine fuse. On the 22RE that powers the tach is installed. Connect to wire that only has power when fuse is inserted. (Red in the case of 22REliable).
