I was at a bbq yesterday where my buddy who drives a stock 1995 Silverado was also at. He kept givin me crap for callin my 4 Runner my "truck". After a few friendly comments givin each other crap - I told him that I'd take him wheelin on Thurs and when I out-wheeled him there; he'd have to start callin my 4 Runner a "truck".

I'm taking him here... I wish pictures did it justice - but most of the pics you can't tell that you're pretty much looking straight down.

According to him, I don't have a powerful enough engine for him to consider it a "truck". I told him I had enough to pull him up the hills and out of the mud he'll be followin me through. Trail report to follow.

Well, he's actually wrong anyways, since traditionally(back in the day) trucks had powerful engines, but were not typically fast or economical, since their principle purpose was to transport goods/loads from point A to point B. The older 4runners share many components with the pickup trucks of similar model years, but according to registration, I have a 4X4 SUV, and KBB.com says I have a 4 door 4X4 wagon

I once had to pull my (then)room mate's 4X4 01 Silverado out of my back yard. It really hurt his pride. He never spoke ill of my Taco again.

Its going to be a slaughter, especially with the E-locker. Its fun watching domestic truck try to wheel. They must have a couple extra inches of flex just from frame flex alone.

I refer to all stock rigs as “tow rigs.” My concept of wheeling is pretty hard core and I forget that some people think mobbin’ through mud pits or smashing down logging roads is wheelin’.

this thread made me lawl...

I've left so many lifted full size domestic trucks in my 31" ruts before, lmao, and then had to go back and pull them out! Not too long ago a buddy of mine that used to bragg about his big ol Chevy with a V8 could out power and out run my little 22re was out in the woods and his truck broke down. Of coarse, he had nothing with him to fix it (all it was in the end was a bad connection on the battery that wouldn't let it start), so I left all my tools at home because I wanted to humiliate him by pulling him all the way out of the trail. So I strapped up, then pulled him through 2 ditches, 3 little mud pits, and then all the way back to his house. Since then, he, and many of his other friends, worship Toyotas, lol. And after I told him I did all that with 284k miles on the truck, he went out and bought a 2nd gen Runner, lmao. I converted him... but he still has the Chevy... just sits in his back yard...

But yeah man, show him up, and get some good pics and vids!

I followed 2 jeeps with at least 4-6 inches of lift and 37" tires up a rocky, washed-out logging roads that had basically turned into trails. They looked back at me, like what the h311 is he doing? then i proceeded to follow him all the way to the top of this mountain/hill (about a mile and a half). they beat me to the top by about 5 minutes, and they all turned and looked as i chugged up the hill. They looked again at me and my friend as if in total disbelief that i had made it to the top of this hill. it was great! I loved every minute of it.
