If you could find a parallel crimp like below, you would not need to wrap wires. Make sure wires touch each other side by side (parallel). Do not use butt connectors where connectivity depends on the crimp terminal metal (too thin).
OR improvise by using "barrel" part of ring terminal like this.
Either way, I strongly recommend finishing with a solder to improve electrical contact and fill voids that could lead to corrosion.
Thicknesses of wires suggest where "S" wire taps off of "B" wire.
Fusible Link looks like below on first-gen... green is most likely corrosion.
