Ifs Help!

Hi, passenger side on front is 2 inches lower than left side. I measured from ground to fender and left side is 2 inches higher. Tire on right side is rubbing front valance while turning. Tried to adjust it with torsion bar but apparently it just got maybe half inch higher. Any ideas what can be causing this height issue? Thanks.

More information would be nice.

What year truck/4Runner?
2WD/4WD?
What size tires?
Any lift?
Have you touched the torsion bars before?
Did this just happen or has it been like this for a while?
Any accessories on the front of the truck, like winch, heavy duty bumper? Anything that adds a significant amount of extra weight?

Pics would be awesome too.

Yes. Sorry about that. 1990 pickup 4wd. Ifs. No lifts yet. 32x11.5 on 15x6 stock wheels. No winch, stock bumper, etc. i bought the truck a couple of months ago but I just bought 32" tires and noticed this. I dont drive it too often. There was a wrench key holding the upper nut on the right torsion bar bolt so definitely previous owner made something there.

I would measure from center of the the hub to the fender lip on both sides and then compare to stock specifications to see how much he messed with the bars.

Also try to measure from the frame rail to the ground on both sides while sitting on a flat surface like a driveway

Shure the body is straight? Should be pretty hard to rub the fron valence with stock wheels unless the bodys tweaked or somethings wack with an a arm, or the lower arm is way out of alighnment. Any pics?

Here are some pictures of the bump stops. On left one should be about 2 inches of clearance, on right side maybe half inch.

Right

Jack up the passenger side letting the suspention hang freely.
Look at and match the amount of threads that are showing on the drivers side Tbar adjuster.

If the amount of threads looks the same already then the Tbar has gone soft or check the Tbar mount points for loose bolts or bent.

Where can I see the remaining threads. Are they on the front o the T bar by the tire or at the back where the bolts are? Looking at bolt laying under the truck, clockwise should lift it, right?

I already checked threads. It seems both sides has same amount of threads left. Also lower side wouldnt let me tighten it more, I think bolt will break if I can keep going. Maybe Tbar gone soft as you said.

Do you think a bad front shock could make this happen? It seems a lot older than left side.

standard shocks only dampen wheel travel, not hold height. most likely an issue with the t-bars. take measurements from fender lip to center of axles and tell us. also take pic from further back so we can see what's going on and maybe someone will find something you didn't notice. use plenty of penetrating oil any time you want to mess with tbar adjusters or any 20+yr old hardware
