I want some 4.10 gears for my 2wd

FYI (no one in particular), I have found one 2WD V6 truck, that was running a 7.5" 3rd. It was a 5 spd (R150). Unfortunately, not all V6 trucks ran 7.5" 3rds.
JamesD, just so we're all on the same page, a 3rd member out of an IFS diff will directly replace the 7.5" 3rd from the rear?
Also, if I find a stock 4WD truck with a 4.10 gear code, will that mean the front 3rd will also be a 4.10?

Ya...the front low pinion 7.5" gears are the same fit as the 2WD low pinion 7.5" rears....there are a few 2WD trucks that have a ridiculously low ratio of 3.1 or something like that that have a different pinion offset due to the oversized pinion head....but the higher ratio 2WD's have the same 3rd member offset as the front 4X4 gears. Any questions about if a specific one will fit should be answered with a phone call to the guys that really know ....Jeremy or Carl at http://justdifferentials.com 1-866 349-6801 they probably have used 7.5" gears that they can sell you for cheap also.

3.07? Wow, I couldn't imagine that kind of gearing, at least not with any AT tire. Unfortunately, I need to go the other way.

After going back to a page I've been to several times before, I found some really good info. (Red text)
From Erik's Toyota Differential info page (http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/), describing the 7.5" IFS Diff:
"'86-95 IFS trucks and 4Runners, and all '93-98 T100s use a 7.5" front diff that is offset to the passenger's side. Later models came with ADD (Automatic Differential Disconnect) which uses a vacuum actuated mechanism to disconnect the drivers side axle shaft from the differential. Carriers and gear sets are interchangeable between the two different versions (and also happen to be the same as used in the 2wd Toyota pickup 7.5" diffs). One difference between ADD and non-ADD diffs is that the carrier in an ADD differential has needle bearings supporting the axle shafts at the differential. The non-ADD diffs did not have this bearing and sometimes the passenger side axle flange wears the carrier and becomes loose or wobbly, eventually causing oil leaks, noise, and possible spider gear damage. ADD and non-ADD diffs are swappable as are most of their parts. This makes it possible to change your ADD diff to non-ADD by simply swapping parts as I've done in the picture to the right. This is desirable to some people since some of the ADD stubs are smaller diameter than the non-ADD stubs and are therefore slightly weaker.

I have a 7.5" ring & pinion 4.10, Toyota oem in real nice condition, never made any noise, if anyone needs it let me know, it came out of my IFS third carrier. Just pm me a message.

It's geared that way so a 4spd truck can maintain highway speeds while in 4th without grenading the motor. Murder on the acceleration though.

Fairly new here but been doing research and iirc the 4:10 is a 292 code 29=410 and 2=pinion, as I have a G292 code last number being a 3 or 5 is LSD but 2 n 4 is not. As for 4:10 gears I was out in the "yard" today and picked up some parts (header, grant steering wheel and overflow tank for $20) but while I was there I looked for an LSD 4:10 and didn't find LSD but there ere plenty 292 codes and bout 10-12 yotas even a 79' but if ur looking for them call or look up Mecca auto salvage, Brian runs the place I went to school w him real easy to deal n will ship too

Hey yayfortrees I live near springfield mo I see you are in SE Kansas I have an 87 4runner with add parts truck with 4.10s if your interested let me know I'll make you a good deal and pull it before I send it to the crusher.
