I have a 1995 4runner and I am having a problem with the a340f tranny I think ! it will only drive in 4 wheel low i can go in to 1, 2, and drive . i droped the pan and the fluid did not smell burnt and there was not really any metal shavings and no chunks. So i drained it again and removed the valve body and one of the pistions fell out when i removed the valve body could that be the problem? the valve cause the other two stayed up in there? thanks

Is the 4WD disengaging? The light on? Have you checked linkages? Seems like somthing broke or came apart linkage wise. Not sure of what to make of the piston falling out of the valve body, but it seems the tranny was shifting but not the 4WD.

 

youre saying it only drives in 4low? What type of t-case is it?

 

It slips in every thing other then 4 low the i can shift in reverse 1st 2nd and drive but other then that shes busted
