Unhappy I kill my engine

Hi i´m new in here and i´m from venezuela, so if I wrote something bad excuse me.

2 months ago i got an 93 4runner 4x4 sr5 v6 3.0 A/T in perfect shape, just 91000 miles, and the other day a couple of friends with 4x4 truck to make a trip to the mountain and it was a river in the one i got stock (I have not snorkel) my friends did, they cross out of with no problem, at my turn the car just stop , no bad sounds or smoke came out, the mechanics tell me that some parts (i dont know those name in english) broke and it will be better to get a brand new engine, for the price i pay for the truck i can still sale the truck after chance the engine and win some money, so my question is cuz the mechanics is telling me that and 2005 4runner engine will be ok, i have no much idea to know if that is not an crazy idea, i just know that my engine is and 3VZ–E .

So if someone have some information about this engine type update let me know. thanks to everyone.

no you want a 3.4l from a 96-02 4runner for a upgrade or just stick with a 3.0..
sorry to hear about your truck.. we all have mae stupid mistakes and i personally almost hydrolocked a 22re

if you search that 3.4 engine swap is pretty common

Thanks bigt for the soon post.

that 3.4 engine will fit without make some big changes in the truck?

what are the specifications for that type of engine like 3vze, to make some research about cost to see if I´m making a good deal here or it will be better to find the engine outside the country.

other than that i would like to know if and 2005 4runner engine will fit, is that what the mechanics is telling me to do.

thanks again.

if the swap isnt for you just get your 3.o rebuilt... or rebuilt it yourself

The 3.4 will bolt in. But you will have to do some wiring and you will need a custom exhaust system...

Would end up costing more then putting another 3vze in, but you get a stronger, newer engine. Plus, those 3.4's get better mileage!

here is the same with that engine on the 4runner, they came from usa, my question is the 4.0 will fit?

and my dad is an mechanics to and he say to me that the new one will be the best cuz rebuild that one will cost almost the same and like 5 month of waiting for the parts to came, so i will chance for a new and better engine, the question is how far can i go witout make big changes in the car.

thanks again.

the 4.0 wont be as easy and i dont think will work....
the 3.4 is easyiest just a bit of wiring can even use your transmission read those post i gave you all the info is there..
he is right for a little more price of rebuilding your 3.0 you can put a 3.4 engine in which is more reliable and better economy in fuel..

The 4.0L will not fit easily...

You could also look into the lexus 4.0L v8 if you want more power..
