I just bought a 86 4Runner SR5!!! pics

Hello all, I just wanted to intorduce my self and say hi to everyone here. I bought a 86 4RUnner SR5 with 253K miles with a rebuilt engine. I bought it about 2 weeks ago and i took it off roading this past tuesday, here are some pictures of my truck and where i went off roading. We went to Palmdale, CA.

I have some plans and ideas to change the 4runner to be able to take it offroading.
I placed and order for the FJ40 bikini top fron TPI, K&N filter and got a set of 3 point seatbelts for the rear passanger seat at the junk yard as well.

Here are the pictures enjoy.

Very nice! You're going to fall in love with that thing. But be warned: you'll start pouring tons of money into it, especially if you spend much time on this site!!

WOW!

Very nice.

Jealous as well. Here in the Northeast, hard to find anything 5 years old without rust, let alone a 1st gen 4runner.

1st gen 4runner is always going to be my favorite Toyota. The multiple looks it can have with doing the top off or bikini top on etc etc etc.

THanks for all the comments, Yes i did get the 4cly over the V6. Since i am planning on getting a 99-2001 4runner for the family as well, later down the road.

The 4runner is clean, no oil leaks at all, it came with a rebuilt engine, new tires (31"), shocks, AC recently service, new PS pump and a full tune up. It just needs some TLC on the interior since some of the trim pieces are missing or broken, but i will look for the parts on the forums or junk yards.

I dont really have any specific plans right now, but i do want to lift it 2 to 3 " so i can take it off roading from time to time. I want to use the 4runner to go camping, sand dumes at the beach, snow. But that may change, specially after the first offroading trip that i had last week, I want to go again ASAP..

You can`t go wrong with a first gen, but be prepared for a lighter wallet because once you start the mods, they never seem to end. I have about 10.000 dollars into my 86 4Runner and i still have a few more things to do.

Nice runner man. Can't go wrong with an 86, not that I'm biased or anything.
