How much is my 4R worth? 1990 22RE 5spd, 4.88 gears, great condition?

I bought this truck when I lived in Arkansas...awesome wheeling there and I had tons of spare time. I bought it from the original owners...175k miles and garage kept every night - new timing chain, new HG, all freshened up. The paint was BEAUTIFUL, and its one of the few 90s I've seen without those horrible graphics. ICE cold AC, all manual everything, etc.

After purchasing it, I found some low mileage complete 4.88 axle assemblies from an auto 4R, and swapped them in. Running on 31" tires this is a killer setup and could crawl up anything. At the same time I put a set of 2" rear coil spacers on and tinted the windows. I swapped in a smaller diameter steering wheel, gave it a complete tune up and intake tract cleanout, new O2 sensor, tstat, U and CV joints and boots, etc, basically any maintenance item I forsaw it needing in the future.

Then I moved to Baltimore, where wheeling is far away and I dont have much spare time I'm looking to upgrade to a 3.4L 4R for highway cruising.

I'm wondering if anybody can tell me if the 5spd 22RE package is desireable, and what the truck is approximately worth? The only problem it has is a hunting idle every once in a while, probably a TPS adjustment. One of the factory running boards has a bend in it (hit a board unloading it from a trailer on my move up here). Odometer shows 189k but I never changed the speedo after I upgraded axles so its actually much lower than that. Besides that everything works and looks great:

If anybody can give me a ballpark of what to ask I would appreciate it!

When I was looking for a truck I would've paid 5k for that. The 22re's in 2nd gen's are very rare

Thanks guys, I was thinking of asking 5 but didn't know if that was reasonable. There are a lot of 90 4Rs for cheap out there but none are like this.

I paid $4750 (asking price) on the spot when I found mine last year. Would have paid more. Same color, year, mint inside and out, garaged it's whole life, but only had 80K miles or so on the OD. It's a 3.0, though.

I need to get me some coil spacers. Starting to get a bit saggy in the rear.

Beautiful truck!

Yea his is a 22re in a 2nd gen which an excellent selling point. I have a 3.0 but I would much rather have a 22re with more miles on it.

Thanks for the input guys. I put it up for sale in the for sale section; $5250 obo.

I'm not even going to list it anywhere but the Toyota forums. I just KNOW I will have every tom, dick and harry saying "hey man, you're asking too much! Its only got a 4banger, I can get a 6 for half the price" LOL. Essentially, I refuse to sell it to anybody who has to ask me what a 22RE is

So if any of you have buddies looking for an AWESOME example of a 2nd gen, send them my direction

Thanks again for your help!
