How on earth does coolant get here !!?
so i get under today to check tranny oil...
And I see this...Now, I know Ive been losing coolant, But i could never see a leak, and Its not coming out in steam form from the tail pipe...
And no coolant in the oil...
So...Dublya Tee Eff ?
For refrence you can see the drain plug right there...
More towards the front...
hmmm, What do you guys think is up ?

you know I had a problem exactly like yours. For some time I could not Find the coolant leak that was developing droplets just like yours near the bell housing. If you have a 22re like mine, I had the head serviced and the gasket that came in the head set for the rear backing plate, on the very back of the head just below the rear half moon oil seal under the valve cover, sucked and started leaking immediately.
If you lay down on the ground and look up past the clutch slave cyllinder and get an angle so you can see through the engine bay with the hood opened, you should be able to make out a small formed plate abou the size of your palm on the back of the head. It is bolted on with like 5 bolts and is the only thing attached to the back of the head. See if that's your leak.
good hunting.

hah
Would it be hard to get to that gasket if that is it...?
Im guessing the tranny would need to be removed...

No. You should be able to get to it from the pass side of the motor by pulling the EGR valve off and the other stuff in that area. It's still not terribly easy to get to it, but it's not that bad.
Good tip, Itoyota.

Ok, So, I couldnt really see much through the mess of wires and mud and gunk...But, When I got out there, there was Coolant dripping right on top of the slave cylinder/fork (or w/e its called)
Ill guess ill let my dad know this is my suspicion...

That plate you mention does carry coolant, that could be it. There is also coolant going in to the intake, I had a leak there, but I wouldn't think it would make it that far back on your engine. When I had coolant coming from where yours is, it was a coolant hose going to the heater core, like someone else mentioned. It just goes right into the firewall above your engine, two hoses, one for coolant in, one for coolant out. If your actual heater core is leaking you'll have coolant in the cab. I wouldn't think it'd get out onto the tranny. If they heater core's all plugged up, it could cause those hoses to leak possibly, by building up pressure.
But I'd say other than the backing plate on your head, the heater core hoses are the only things far enough back to be getting coolant way back there.

Sounds good, I guess thatll be a project these next couple weeks...
Heater core flush, And get to that backing plate, it does seem like the most viable solution though...
