Mine has been doing it for years. I replaced the speedo cable and it was no better. I have a new speedo ordered and it should be in this week. As soon as I get it mounted, I'll post back whether that cured it or not.

Sorry guys, forgot to post back. The new speedo took care of all the problems. Just two negatives:
1) I couldn't get the mileage adjusted on the new one so I had to start all over.
2) The new speedo has an orange needle and my original had a white needle.
But I kept the old speedo so maybe one of these days I can get it repaired and the mileage corrected.

Mine started doing this for the first time yesterday when it was -5F on the way to work. But was also weird is that when I was going about 55MPH, the speedo needle was pegged and bouncing off the bottom of the cluster lol. So it was showing I was going over 110MPH. Once things warmed up it went back to normal.

Wow,that is really loud! Here is a pic of what I used and have never heard that sound again its been maybe 4 yrs now. I pulled the cluster out and sprayed this in the cable housing a few times till it was saturated. Some people have had problems with the actual gauge instead of the cable so keep that in mind.

Currently I'm just avoiding the noise by getting everything nice and warm in the dash area.
If I run the defroster as it's warming up before I drive it, its usually warm enough by the time I'm up to speed not to make the bleating goat noise.

the colder it is, the faster i go (according to the speedo). The noise is pretty awful and the girlfried totally hates it. Just as an idea, is there anyway you can lube it from the non-dash side? And if not, is it a pretty big pain to take out the dash? I guess I could clean those condesation marks off
