you know there is a tool for doing u-joints/ball joints. i highly recommend this tool, even if you are thinking you wont need it that often. after you use it once, you will wonder why you didnt buy one earlier. its basically a big c clamp you use to drive out the u joint with an impact wrench.

don,t get the one from harbor freight. it sucks. my yokes are tapered and the dang thing would slide off the end when i would start torquing down the nut . i finally gave up and broke out the sockets. you could make one out of a c-clamp and angle the end so it would not slide off, which is what i am going to do.
