herculiner question

bought the herculiner kit that comes with a gallon and all the stuff you need. i just did my bed with two coats and i still have just under half a can!?
i was just wondering if this stuff just goes along ways or did i put it on to thin?
it says it will do a 6 foot truck bed but i have enough to do a 10 foot bed lol

Why not put on another coat?
I have not used it before, but have thought about it a lot.
Some pics would be awesome!

if your bed is scratched up or if you have been thinking about doing it. just go for it. its super easy and it seems really tough so far. way way better dupli color i have tried both.

I'd use the whole can. Can't have too thick a coating. Funny though... it took me the whole can to do my bed

i just finished the tail gate so now im down to around 1/4 can. i still have to do some touch up work so that will eat up some more. i wanna do the top of my greenlee tool box to match. i think ill have enough for one coat.

i got the kit for $60 bucks so i think it was worth it.

Unless you have somewhere, or something else you want to cover, why not keep building it up until the can is empty.

thats a good idea. i did a similar thing to the inside of my bug so the floor boards wouldnt rust out. my buddy is doing his datsun 510 this week it works great for all kinds of things. i was thinking about doing my trailer in it im getting tired of repainting it when i put a fat scratch in it lol

That's what I was thinking, the bed and inside walls can take a beating at times.

I did it in the back of my 4Runner and am actually using the rest on my pan halves in my Bug. How did the carpet adhere to it when you put it in?

What spray did you use? I use the 3M upholstery adhesive spray. Will it be strong enough in a thick coat?

3m is what I used. Pretty good stuff,I bought like 3 cans because I used it on the insulation also. Make sure you spay both surfaces really good and the corners and edges good as well. Wait till tacky and then stick'em together good to go. Mine turned out ok.. but the previous owner bought the cheapy carpet kit and never installed it so i was stuck with what i had. My advice is dont skimp on the carpet kit the the ones that have the pre cut holes are way way better. Have some acetone on hand because that glue get sticky fast. The best advice i can give you is take your time on the install.
