Angry Help Starter problems

Hello I have a 91 3.0 auto 4 runner I took the starter off today to see if the contacts were wore after taking the starter off the contacts look fine but the brass washer on the plunger that touches the contacts looked corroded. I took a file and smoothed the surface. The whole reason that iI did this was because I had the Famous clicking at the starter. IF THERE ARE ANY SUGGESTION it would be greatly appreciate for know the runner is down and it is my DD.

I have checked the starter and dissassembled the selenoid and as I stated the contact points looked clean and new but the Brass washer on the plunger that touches the contact points looked corroded with pits and scaling.
